Tony
Founder & Lead Instructor
Meet Tony, the heart and soul behind Essex Scuba! With over 30 years of dive teaching experience and a passport full of dive stamps from around the globe, Tony brings unmatched knowledge, enthusiasm, and charm to every session. As a certified PADI Master Instructor and TDI Tech Instructor, he’s passionate about sharing the underwater world with divers of all levels. Whether it’s your first time in the water or your hundredth dive, Tony’s mission is to make sure you learn, laugh, and leave with confidence – all delivered with his trademark smile!
Simon
Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Originally from the crystal-clear waters of Malta, Simon grew up surrounded by the sea—starting with snorkelling and skin diving before taking the plunge into scuba. With hundreds of Mediterranean dives under his belt before even arriving in the UK, Simon brings a wealth of real-world experience and a deep passion for the underwater world. Certified through both PADI and BSAC, he chose to continue his journey with PADI and has spent the past 20 years teaching as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Known for his calm, patient teaching style and genuine love for helping students grow in confidence, Simon is always ready to guide new divers with encouragement, knowledge, and a big smile!
