• Dive 2: Planning & Coordination We move to the “five-point descent” and the art of Neutral Buoyancy Mastery. You’ll learn to rise and fall gently using nothing but your breath control, alongside clearing a fully flooded mask.
• Dive 3: Control and Emergencies Safety becomes second nature as we practice cramp releases and the Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent (CESA). You will also master the “hover,” remaining perfectly stationary in the water column for at least 30 seconds.
• Dive 4: Complexity and Problem Management This phase tests your composure. You will perform Surface Kit Management, manage tired diver tows, and breathe from a simulated free-flowing regulator. Crucially, you will practice swimming without a mask for at least 15 metres (50 feet) to ensure total underwater comfort.
• Dive 5: Mastery (The Mini-Dive) The culmination of your pool training is a comprehensive “Mini-dive” simulation. You and your buddy will plan and execute a dive, managing simulated emergencies and concluding with a five-point ascent and a safety stop.
