Don’t let colder water temperatures limit your diving adventures. The PADI Drysuit Specialty Course gives you the skills and confidence to dive comfortably throughout the year, opening up a whole new world of dive sites, seasons, and experiences.

Whether you’re exploring local UK wrecks, venturing into Scotland’s stunning marine environments, or planning trips to colder destinations around the world, learning to dive in a drysuit will help you stay warm, comfortable, and focused on enjoying every dive.

Why Learn to Dive in a Drysuit?

A drysuit creates a protective barrier between you and the surrounding water, keeping you dry and insulated even in colder conditions. With proper training, you’ll benefit from:

  • Longer and more comfortable dives
  • Year-round diving opportunities
  • Greater thermal protection in cold-water environments
  • Reduced fatigue caused by heat loss
  • Increased confidence in challenging conditions

Simply put, warm divers enjoy their dives more!

What You’ll Learn

During the course, your instructor will teach you how to safely and effectively use a drysuit, including:

  • Drysuit types, features, and proper fit
  • Undergarment selection for different conditions
  • Drysuit buoyancy control techniques
  • Managing air movement within the suit
  • Safe ascents and descents
  • Water entries and exits while wearing a drysuit
  • Basic drysuit care and maintenance
  • Handling common drysuit issues and emergencies

By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and practical experience needed to dive confidently in a drysuit.
