If you’re taking your smartphone underwater and want your photos and videos to look as colourful as the real thing, the DIVEVOLK Red Filter & Magenta Filter set is a fantastic addition to your setup. Here at Essex Scuba, we know how quickly colours can disappear underwater, and these clever filters are a simple way to bring some of that natural colour back into your footage.
As you descend, the water absorbs the warmer colours of sunlight first, leaving photographs looking increasingly blue or green. DIVEVOLK has designed these filters specifically to help correct that colour shift.
The red filter is designed for blue and tropical seawater, helping restore warmer reds, oranges and yellows to your underwater images. It’s particularly useful when you’re photographing colourful reefs, fish and other marine life in clear blue water.
The magenta filter is the one to reach for when you’re diving in green or freshwater environments, such as lakes, rivers and some temperate waters. It helps balance the green tint and produce more natural-looking colours.
Both filters feature a 67mm thread and are designed to fit directly onto a compatible DIVEVOLK 67mm lens adapter. They’re suggested for use between approximately 5 and 25 metres, giving you a useful range for a huge variety of recreational dives.
What we really like is the flexibility of having both filters available. Heading off on a tropical holiday? Take the red filter. Exploring a UK lake or green-water dive site? Swap to the magenta filter. It’s a simple solution that can make a noticeable difference to your underwater photography.
At Essex Scuba, we think these are a brilliant little upgrade for anyone who enjoys underwater photography. They’re simple to use, easy to swap between different diving environments, and can help your smartphone footage look much closer to how the underwater world actually looks to your eyes.
